Security Copilot Integration in Microsoft Purview

Both the Security Copilot standalone and embedded experiences can be used after signing up for Security Copilot in the same tenant as Microsoft Purview. Security Copilot's features, such as summarizing DLP or insider risk management alerts are embedded into Microsoft Purview features. 

A collection of functions that are integrated into Microsoft Purview features is known as Copilot in Microsoft Purview embedded experiences. 

Copilot, a chat-like feature in the Microsoft Purview standalone experience, can be used to ask questions and receive answers regarding any data. 

Key Features in Embedded Experience

The embedded experience in purview can help:
  • Get AI-generated summaries from Microsoft Purview product documentation.
  • Use suggested or customized prompts in DSPM.
  • Summarize alerts in DLP.
  • Get insights into policies. 
  • Summarize alerts in insider risk management.
  • Summarize policy matches based on trainable classifiers for communication compliance.
  • Get contextual summary for eDiscovery cases.
  • Gain insights in activity explorer data and generate filters from natural language prompts.

Key Features in Standalone Experience

There are a lot of built-in features in the Copilot Standalone Experience in Microsoft Purview. These features helps to draw connections between datapoints and gain insights from the Purview data. This information can be used to better understand compliance posture, information security posture, and triage alerts.
  • DLP and Insider Risk Management data and user risk promptbook- Copilot in Microsoft Purview evaluates DLP and insider risk management data and provides with integrated results by executing a series of successive questions from a promptbook.

Enable Microsoft Purview Source in Microsoft Security Copilot

  1. Make sure to have permissions.
  2. Open https://securitycopilot.microsoft.com/. 
  3. Open sources in the prompt bar.
  4. In the manage plugins page, set the Purview toggle to On to enable or Off to disable. 

Review Microsoft Purview System Capabilities

  1. Choose the capabilities control in the prompt bar.
  2. Select See all capabilities to view all the system capabilities that are available for Microsoft Purview.
